AMK A1899 — Air Suspension Compressor

Overview

Air suspension compressor AMK A1899 supplies compressed air to air springs and the reservoir tank to control vehicle ride height. Operating on a 12 V electrical system, this unit generates up to 16 bar operating pressure and features an integrated air dryer with silica gel to extract moisture from the pneumatic circuit. Maximum current draw is 35 A. The housing is cast aluminium alloy with anti-corrosion surface coating. The assembly includes an integrated pressure release solenoid valve, NTC thermal sensor, and standard 4-pin electrical connector for wiring connection. Direct replacement for OEM part numbers 1643201204, 1643200504, 1643200904, 1643200204, A1643201204, and A1643200504.

Engineered for Mercedes-Benz ML-Class W164 models built between 2005 and 2011, GL-Class X164 models from 2006 to 2012, and R-Class W251 models from 2005 to 2017. Mounts directly to factory brackets located behind the front bumper arch liner. Replacement is required when the electric motor burns out, PTFE piston rings wear out, solenoid valves stick due to moisture ingress, or internal seals degrade. Common failure symptoms include slow vehicle lifting times, failure to maintain ride height, noisy pump operation, and active Airmatic fault codes displayed on the instrument cluster.
