Overview

Timing chain tensioner Honda 14510R40A01 maintains correct tension on the primary engine timing chain, preventing chain slack, valve timing phase shift, and camshaft sprocket tooth jump. The mechanical unit consists of a die-cast aluminium housing with an anti-corrosion finish, a precision-ground steel hydraulic plunger, an internal return spring, and a ratchet anti-backlash mechanism with a safety retaining pin. Engine oil pressure acts directly through an internal oil feed passage to actuate the piston against the tensioner shoe. OEM part cross-references include 14510R40A01 and 14510-R40-A01. Dimensions: overall body size 68x45x32 mm, piston outer diameter 12 mm, mounting hole spacing 42 mm center-to-center, using 2xM6 mounting bolts. Total weight is 0.35 kg.
