Lower timing chain Iwis 50046755 transfers rotational torque from the crankshaft to the intermediate shaft, lower sprocket assembly, or oil pump drive system. Manufactured from heat-treated alloy steel, the chain features precision-stamped side plates and hardened bearing pins. The roller construction operates with an 8.0 mm chain pitch, providing accurate engagement with drive sprockets and guide rails. Surface-hardened components resist abrasive wear from engine oil contaminants and withstand tensile forces up to 18 kN under varying engine speeds. Physical dimensions, plate thickness, and link count match original equipment specifications OEM 06H109158N, 06H109158J, and 06K109158AD. Thermal stability is maintained at continuous operating oil temperatures reaching 150 °C.

Replacement is required when link joint wear causes chain elongation, tensioner piston over-extension, metallic rattling noise during cold starts, or camshaft timing fault codes (such as P0016). Fits VAG 1.8 TSI, 2.0 TSI, and 3.0 TDI petrol and diesel engines fitted to Audi A4, A5, A6, Q5, Volkswagen Passat B7, Golf Mk6, Tiguan, Touareg, Skoda Octavia, and Superb models produced between 2007 and 2018.
