Mann HU821X — Oil Filter

Overview

Oil filter insert Mann HU821X removes metallic particles, carbon deposits, soot, and degraded lubricant residue from the engine oil circuit during engine operation. This metal-free cartridge filter element features an overall height of 118 mm, an outer diameter of 71 mm, and an inner fitting diameter of 31 mm. The pleated synthetic paper media maintains flow rate under high oil pressure and variable engine temperatures during cold starts. The supplied kit contains a replacement housing lid rubber O-ring seal and a copper sump drain plug washer. This element directly replaces OEM part numbers BMW 11427508969, 11427501059, 11427619232, and 11427508968.

This part fits BMW 1 Series E81, E87, E82, E88 (2004–2013), BMW 3 Series E46, E90, E91, E92, E93 (2001–2013), BMW X1 E84 (2009–2015), and BMW X3 E83 (2005–2010) models fitted with N40, N42, N45, and N46 1.6, 1.8, and 2.0-litre petrol engines. Cartridge replacement is required at every engine oil service interval, typically every 10000–15000 km or 12 months. Fitment of a fresh filter element prevents oil pressure drops, bypass valve activation, media clogging, fold distortion, and accelerated engine component wear caused by contaminated lubrication media.
