Overview

Spark plug Mitsubishi MD372421 ignites the air-fuel mixture inside the combustion chamber of petrol engines via an electrical spark gap. Technical specifications include an M14x1.25 thread diameter, 19 mm thread reach, and a 16 mm hex spanner size. Factory electrode gap measures 1.1 mm. Built with a copper core central electrode featuring a nickel alloy tip, this unit maintains consistent spark discharge and reduces electrical load on ignition coils. The outer steel shell incorporates zinc plating to prevent thread seizure and corrosion inside the cylinder head. High-dielectric ceramic insulation prevents electrical flashover under extreme operating temperatures and voltages. Original equipment part number is MD372421.

Fitment includes Mitsubishi Lancer IX 1.6 (2003–2008), Carisma 1.6 (1995–2006), Space Star 1.3/1.6 (1998–2004), Outlander I 2.0/2.4 (2003–2008), and Pajero III 3.0/3.5 (2000–2006) fitted with 4G18, 4G63, 4G93, and 6G72 petrol engines. Replacement is recommended every 30 000 to 40 000 km, or when experiencing engine misfires, rough idling, hesitation under acceleration, increased fuel consumption, or hard cold starting. Installing a fresh component restores standard combustion efficiency, stabilizes engine operation across all load ranges, and protects the catalytic converter from damage caused by unburnt fuel entering the exhaust system.
