Overview

Rear shock absorber Mitsubishi MR990539 dampens suspension oscillation and maintains tyre contact with the road surface. This genuine original equipment unit features a steel body with a chrome-plated piston rod to resist corrosion and seal wear. Technical specifications include an extended length of 530 mm, a collapsed length of 340 mm, and an outer body diameter of 45 mm. The piston rod diameter measures 12.5 mm. Both top and bottom mountings use eyelet bushings with a 14 mm internal sleeve diameter. The internal twin-tube gas-pressurised design reduces hydraulic fluid foaming during high-frequency suspension movements. Original equipment reference number MR990539.

This rear damper fits Mitsubishi L200 Mk4 pickup models (KB4T chassis) equipped with 2.5 DI-D diesel engines produced between 2005 and 2015. It also fits selected Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Mk2 (KH chassis) SUV variants manufactured from 2008 to 2015. Replacement is required when fluid leakage appears around the rod seal, after mechanical damage to the outer casing, or when noticeable body bounce occurs over uneven surfaces. Replacing worn shock absorbers prevents accelerated wear on leaf springs, axle bushes, and wheel bearings caused by uncontrolled suspension movement. The mounting eyelets fit factory brackets on the rear axle housing and chassis frame directly without modification.
