Overview

Rear wheel hub Subaru 28473FL040 combines the wheel bearing, hub flange, and integrated ABS magnetic encoder ring into a single sealed unit. The assembly transfers torque from the drive axle to the rear wheel while supporting radial and axial loads during vehicle operation. Built from forged alloy steel for resistance against mechanical wear and heat, the unit includes 5 pre-installed wheel studs with M12x1.25 thread pitch and a 5x114.3 mm bolt pattern. The hub housing features a 124 mm mounting diameter and a 138 mm outer flange diameter. OEM part number 28473FL040 replaces former part references 28473FL000, 28473FL010, and 28473FL020. The factory-sealed bearing unit is pre-greased and requires no internal adjustment or maintenance prior to mounting.

This rear hub assembly fits Subaru Impreza (G14/G24) models built 2017–2023, Subaru XV / Crosstrek (G24) models built 2018–2023, and Subaru Forester (SK) models built 2019–2024 equipped with 2.0L and 2.5L petrol engines. Replacement is required when experiencing persistent grinding noises at speeds over 40 km/h, excessive wheel play observed on a vehicle lift, stripped stud threads, or ABS fault codes caused by encoder ring wear or sensor ring corrosion.
