Taiho M453ASTD — Main Bearing Set

Overview

Engine crankshaft main bearing set Taiho M453ASTD supports the main journals of the crankshaft within the cylinder block crankcase, reducing rotational friction. Supplied in standard nominal size STD for unground original crankshaft journals. Manufactured from a multi-layer bimetal alloy on a steel backing with a soft overlay lining. The design maintains an oil film layer across running surfaces under heavy load conditions. Package contains upper and lower shell halves featuring oil grooves and lubrication supply holes. Standard OEM cross-references include Toyota 11701-21010, 11701-21020, 11701-21011, 11701-21012, and 11701-21021.

Fits Toyota Yaris, Corolla, Echo, Vitz, Platz, Belta, Ractis, Sienta, Probox, Porte, Allion, Premio, FunCargo, bB, Raum, Ist, and WiLL models fitted with 1NZ-FE 1.5 L, 1NZ-FXE 1.5 L, 2NZ-FE 1.3 L, 1SZ-FE 1.0 L, and 2SZ-FE 1.3 L petrol engines produced between 1999 and 2020. Replacement is required during bottom-end engine overhauls, when low oil pressure is detected at operating temperature, or upon discovering severe scoring, pitting, or material fatigue on the journal bearing faces. Fitting new main bearings restores original oil clearances of 0.020–0.044 mm and prevents journal seizure or bearing shell spin inside the main housing bores.
