Overview

Timing chain tensioner Toyota 1355031010 maintains correct tension across the primary timing chain assembly on GR-series V6 engines. The unit features a cast aluminium housing fitted with a precision-machined steel plunger, internal return spring, and integrated anti-backlash ratchet mechanism. Engine oil pressure actuates the plunger via a 2.5 mm inlet orifice, maintaining precise tension during engine operation. The assembly mounts directly to the engine cylinder block using two M6x1.0 flange bolts with 45 mm mounting hole centres. Matching OEM part number 1355031010 (cross-reference 13550-31010), this original equipment component provides a maximum plunger stroke of 22 mm. The internal non-return check valve prevents hydraulic pressure drop when the engine stops, preventing timing chain slack and tooth jump upon cold startup.

Fitment covers Toyota Camry XV40 and XV50 3.5, RAV4 XA30, Highlander XU40, and Land Cruiser Prado 120 and 150 models fitted with 1GR-FE 4.0 and 2GR-FE 3.5 V6 engines from 2005 to 2018. The part also fits Lexus GS300, IS250, ES350, and RX350 variants. Replacement is necessary when experiencing metallic rattling noises from the timing cover during startup, worn ratchet teeth, oil port clogging, or when plunger extension exceeds 15 mm due to timing chain elongation.
