The component maintains correct chain alignment, preventing excessive friction and premature mechanical wear across adjacent engine parts. Manufactured with a heat-resistant synthetic polymer slipper pad bonded to a cast alloy backing plate, this guide withstands continuous exposure to hot engine oil at temperatures reaching 150 °C. Made to original equipment specification 13561-31010, the part features direct-fit mounting positions for standard M6 threaded bolts. Overall guide length measures 185 mm with a runner width of 24 mm.

Fitment covers Toyota RAV4, Camry, Highlander, Land Cruiser Prado, and Avalon alongside Lexus ES350, RX350, and GS350 models powered by 3.5L V6 engines (2GR-FE, 2GR-FSE, and 2GR-FXE codes) produced between 2005 and 2018. Replacement becomes necessary during engine timing overhauls, when correcting excessive chain slack, or if rattling sounds occur behind the timing cover during cold starts. Deep grooves worn into the polymer surface cause chain slack and altered valve timing parameters. Installing a replacement guide restores proper chain tensioning geometry, preventing damage to the aluminium timing cover and camshaft drive sprockets.
